Episode: Micky Dolenz! 5-1-2017

Dolenz

This episode, “Micky Dolenz,” features frequent Inspirado Projecto collaborator, comedian, philosopher, human behaviourist, cinematographer and writer, Craig Spivek. We talked about the process of creation, the traps of modern day schooling, comedy, imagination, off-the-grid gardening, and his personal story about Micky Dolenz. Craig also read a passage from his upcoming book of short stories (the title of which is HERE)! You can order a copy of his motivational memoir, “COMEDY WILL SAVE US ALL” HERE!

Aunt Nancy

Thank you to my Aunt Nancy, who always encouraged me to draw, bought me art supplies/sketchbooks for Birthdays and Christmases, took such tender care of her gardens and plants, cooked all of those handmade delicious holiday meals, laughed heartily from the belly, smiled perpetually, gave us so much joy on her backyard trampoline/in her swimming pool, threw fun parties in her basement, taught us the benefits of living in a family filled with jokes and pranks (many centered around Easter Peeps), introduced us to Buckwheat Zydeco, and exemplified unrestrained freedom through her many adventures with Uncle Tom, to Texas and beyond.

We love you Aunt Nancy and thank you for all of the memories. RIP.

Inspirado Projecto On Instagram!

Its been a blast making immediate videos as soon as ideas pop up. Utilizing a combination of the video apps “FaceSwapLive”, “Video Filters”, “Video Color”, and iMovie, I’ve been having fun seeing how to stretch their capabilities within the time limit of 1 minute on Instagram. This has become a whole new medium for me to work with. Here’s my brief review of “Thimbleweed Park”, before I noticed a special feature on Instagram enabling me to post full-sized widescreen vids. Oh! also, if there are fun apps you’ve been experimenting with, please provide them in the comments section.

“VISITORS” 02-7-2017

visitors

I received a text this morning, from my fellow brainstorming buddy, saying that he had two very vivid experiences very early this morning/late last night. They had to do with otherworldly visitations. He awoke this morning with interesting marks on his hand. Its the second time he’s been visited within a few months, waking with a marking on his hand. I called him back and decided to record it for the Inspirado Projecto Podcast.

“Holographic Archive” 2-6-2017

On the way to KCHUNG Studios today, I received a text message from Nicholas, Station Manager Extraordinaire, saying today’s Inspirado Projecto had to be called off. The door to the building was locked. He had been there for 90 minutes already, knocking and calling the landlord, with no answer. A few days ago, I invited Casey Driver from A.V. Media (the kinda fella who interviewed Alec Smart and I after FAR Bazaar) to check out KCHUNG Studios during our live broadcast. I texted to let him know we had to call off the broadcast and he suggested we meet and talk anyway, as he was already on the freeway. It was a wonderful opportunity to find out about his projects and tell him about the show. We picked the NoHo Diner and recorded our conversation as a podcast of sorts.

The ‘Zine Movement, microbroadcasting, drive-in/up movies, pop-up stores, artist communities, the Youniverse, synchronicities, virtual reality and much more is discussed in this version of Inspirado Projecto!

WOWzers, this episode “Collage”,  landed exactly on 123, which as many of you know, is the beginning of the Fibonacci Sequence! Our special guest, PQ Ribber, talked about his Overnightscape radio show, other various projects he’s collaborated on, and a homemade movie he was in with Andy Kaufman! We give notice to the anniversary of when my fellow Blues Brothers Orphan Jeff Cahill left us, in addition to a cosmic story involving the time when he booked IamAnOrphan to play at On the Rox (you can view the documentary about him and all the bands he helped out on the Sunset Strip, called “The Booker”, right HERE!).

We also ingest interesting Fun Facts by World-traveler Henry D. Horse, spoken word by poetess Samantha Light, a demo version of a song called “Use Me Darling” written by songwriter extraordinaire Lawrence August, a new one by Katmaz from his album “Nautical Things”, a sweet serenade by Bibi Borja and a dreamy soundscape by PQ Ribber. News about the upcoming point-and-click adventure game “Thimbleweed Park” is proclaimed (created by the same geniuses who brought us “Maniac Mansion,” and “Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders“), AND… music featured within the game, at a location called “Quickie Pal”, is revealed!

January 28-29, KCHUNG is given a space to perform at FAR Bazaar within the Fine Art Complex at Cerritos College, broadcasting through the mobile transmitter (there’s no telling at this moment what actual number on the radiodial we’ll be utilizing, since 1630AM is taken by the studio).  Inspirado Projecto is invited to play at this unique event between 1pm-3pm PST, and we’d love to see you there at this momentous occasion! Heck, chances are, you might even be interviewed!

“Synchronicity” 12-12-2016

The charm and excitement of broadcasting live on KCHUNG Radio‘s pirate/underground/secret basement location cogged within LA Chinatown’s Eardrum Chakra, is the unexpected occurrences arriving at any moment.  The train of thought is moving and suddenly sub-atomics blink and a gusty howl rampages through the drywall. These cosmic bits are what David Lynch calls, “Happy Accidents.” Its precisely what happened on Inspirado Projecto’s episode “Synchronicity”,  with guest Ciara Berlin.

ciarasynchonicity

We played a commercial for The Human System, a BREAKING NEWSFLASH from Fall Creek Valley‘s 101.6, an intriguing song by Grimes,  Fun Facts from Henry D. Horse, a fun one by the Fuckarias, something by Dandy Warhols, hilarious gossip from The Celebrity Afterlife Report, found poetry by a wedding officiant talking about improvisation mixed with a song by Diego Stocco, and a song from Westworld. The magic of the Youniverse and ALL THAT IS, was heartily discussed on the episode as well. Due to this cosmic soup, the KCHUNG studio equipment had a tricky time capturing these nuances and broadstrokes.

The great news is, while diving antennafirst, into this unique sound collage of distinguish-ably particular blips and bleeps, it experiments with testing your patience, as well as exploring a brand new cluster of spacial eardrum placement peculiarities!

Listen to Synchronicity HERE!

Stay tuned to future episodes, as Ciara will return to surf the airwaves again sooner than later .

Inspirado Projecto – “Formulas” – 11/28/2016

On this episode, “Formulas,” we talk with Phil Donlon and Louis McGruder about screenwriting techniques, the film industry, and what inspires them to create their creations. We also played songs by Namon Sherriel, Daniel James, Geronimo Jackson, and some great Fun Facts from Henry D. Horse!

Tune in December 12th for the next one!
