11-20-2017 Episode: Astral

NamonCraigCEC

It was a joy to play around in Inspiradoville, with guests Namon Sherriel and Craig Spivek on Inspirado Projecto, in the KCHUNG 1630AM Studios of Chinatown, Los Angeles! Some of you may remember hearing Author/Comedian/Improvisor Extraordinaire, Craig, from some past episodes (I dare you to search for his name in the Official Inspirado Projecto WordPress Searchbar)? This is the first time we’ve interviewed Musician of Enchantment, Namon, on the show. We played audio selections from an album he’s cobbling together of dreamlike/fantasy music. It was fun to give him our thoughts and ideas that blipped our antennae, while listening to the particular songscapes. He wrote down ideas into a notebook too. Keep your ears open for a startling story about astral projection and a near-death experience!

We also had an opportunity to play some new Fun Facts by Henry D. Horse, a new Celebrity Afterlife Report Podcast from everyone’s favourite Celebrity Medium, and an unexpected guest showed up later with some of his own music, named Bobbie Deerfield.

Some of you who’ve listened to the show know we’ve encountered ‘technical abnormalities’ on several instances in the past. Sometimes the sound is very quiet, sometimes it sounds like we’re blasting it, sometimes it jarbles in and out, sometimes the entire control panel melts and we have to Frankenstein it back together with aluminum foil and paper clips. Opening arms and improvising brains, we plod forth doing the best we can with what we’ve got and somehow make it work. Its all a sound experiment and a scientific study in the art of ‘artistic process unfolding and the human behaviour associated with it.’ Having said that, this episode sounds like we’re speaking through Dixie cups and strings at times, and other times, is crispy and clear.

We also missed not having the Captain of our ship here, Nicholas Phillips. This might be part of the reason why the broadcast has its unique peaks and valleys.

We play a few songs from the new “Twin Peaks: The Return” soundtracks, talk about how Jay met David Lynch and his short film “Beer Pong Girls”.

KaPow Intergalactic Film Festival, which ran November 9-15 at NoHo7 Laemmle in North Hollywood, screened “Beer Pong Girls” during a short film block on November 15th. It was an honour to see his film projected onto the Silver Screen and meet so many extraordinary filmmakers! We look forward to seeing more of his creations at KaPow IFF 2018, in addition to collaborating with him on future Inspirado Projecto episodes!
