On this 3-5-2018 episode of Inspirado Projecto, we collaborated with some wonderful guests in the KCHUNG 1630am Studio! Songwriting duo Blythe Baines & Carter Soso played samples from their upcoming “Games” EP on Priority Records. Woodsman Stewart Strauss from “Twin Peaks: The Return”, talked about working with David Lynch and surprised us with one of his own songs! Everyone revealed their creation processes and what most inspires them to give birth to such artistic gifts.
It was a pleasure to engage in such a wonderful conversation with two of “The Woodsmen” from Twin Peaks: The Return, on Inspirado Projecto, Robert Broski and Christian Calloway! Rob plays The Woodsman who delivered the iconic line “Gotta Light”:
Christian plays The Woodsman who entered a car and exploded a poor man’s brain matter:
Stewart Strauss, the very first Woodsman ever seen on Twin Peaks: The Return, was unable to join us in person, however, he was definitely with us in spirit, as they both had wonderful stories to share about him:
Jeff Finn, documentary filmmaker of “Strange Septembers” and “Before The End” and fellow PEAKer, also joined us in the KCHUNG Studio to geek out with these crazy cats about their experiences working with David Lynch.
Music from the soundtrack of Twin Peaks: The Return, an original song by Christian Calloway, some news reporting by Stewart, and “Fun Facts” from Henry D. Horse, were also played. Since we geeked out so much, unfortunately the latest Celebrity Afterlife Report Podcast was not played on this show. We talked about Rob’s background as an Abraham Lincoln impersonator, in addition to Christian’s charity. We also discovered that Christian knew Stewart long before they were both cast as The Woodsmen for Twin Peaks: The Return! Rob was a sport and let me place my Grandpa’s old hat on his head to re-create that amazing scene in Twin Peaks: The Return where he crushed the radio dj’s skull with his bare hands!
Some very fun Henry D. Horse “Fun Facts” were played, however we didn’t have time for the “Celebrity Afterlife Report Podcast”, as we were too deep into our geek mode. Have no fear, CARP shall be back again soon!
We also play the latest Celebrity Afterlife Report by everyone’s favourite Celebrity Medium, reveal a couple of intriguing Fun Facts by our resident detective Henry D. Horse, featured melodious wonderments by both Guy and Ken, and unveil a series of synchronicities that I encountered at a Yachtley Crew show. We also pulled out an old classic by The Amboy Dukes, a very unique song by Orion/Elvis, and recount a very spiritual moment in time with an Apache Native in a bar. Inspirado Projecto frequently makes friends with folks on the subway trains, buses, and through various social networks. Sometimes we get a surprise in our emailbox: email@example.com. It could be spoken word, music, a sound collage, anything that is audio. This time, it was from an EDM artist named Akira The Don, and another fun jam band called The Merry Jaynz. We happily played their music on this broadcast as well, and look forward to playing more from other folks in the future!
This entire show was Skyped from the 1630am KCHUNG Radio whilst I was simultaneously broadcasting through Periscope. Unfortunately, I Station Manage this episode and forget to actually record the adio! However, the good news is, the full length PERISCOPE VIDEO ARCHIVE IS HERE!Another fun perspective is through this quick Instagram video footage.
Thank you to everyone who contributes to the show on the 1st and 3rd Mundees of each month! Its been so much fun to showcase your talents for the Youniverse to experience.
It was a joy to play around in Inspiradoville, with guests Namon Sherriel and Craig Spivek on Inspirado Projecto, in the KCHUNG 1630AM Studios of Chinatown, Los Angeles! Some of you may remember hearing Author/Comedian/Improvisor Extraordinaire, Craig, from some past episodes (I dare you to search for his name in the Official Inspirado Projecto WordPress Searchbar)? This is the first time we’ve interviewed Musician of Enchantment, Namon, on the show. We played audio selections from an album he’s cobbling together of dreamlike/fantasy music. It was fun to give him our thoughts and ideas that blipped our antennae, while listening to the particular songscapes. He wrote down ideas into a notebook too. Keep your ears open for a startling story about astral projection and a near-death experience!
Some of you who’ve listened to the show know we’ve encountered ‘technical abnormalities’ on several instances in the past. Sometimes the sound is very quiet, sometimes it sounds like we’re blasting it, sometimes it jarbles in and out, sometimes the entire control panel melts and we have to Frankenstein it back together with aluminum foil and paper clips. Opening arms and improvising brains, we plod forth doing the best we can with what we’ve got and somehow make it work. Its all a sound experiment and a scientific study in the art of ‘artistic process unfolding and the human behaviour associated with it.’ Having said that, this episode sounds like we’re speaking through Dixie cups and strings at times, and other times, is crispy and clear.
We also missed not having the Captain of our ship here, Nicholas Phillips. This might be part of the reason why the broadcast has its unique peaks and valleys.
Jay Aaseng from “Twin Peaks: The Return”, stops by KCHUNG 1630am Studios for an interview on Inspirado Projecto Radio! Dori and CEC barrage Jay with stacks of questions about Twin Peaks and his times collaborating with David Lynch!
Jeff Finn from “Before The End” calls in via Star Trek communicator and asks Jay some questions. One of which, involves Jay replaying the scene with his “Drunk” man character on “Twin Peaks: The Return”…
We play a few songs from the new “Twin Peaks: The Return” soundtracks, talk about how Jay met David Lynch and his short film “Beer Pong Girls”.
KaPow Intergalactic Film Festival, which ran November 9-15 at NoHo7 Laemmle in North Hollywood, screened “Beer Pong Girls” during a short film block on November 15th. It was an honour to see his film projected onto the Silver Screen and meet so many extraordinary filmmakers! We look forward to seeing more of his creations at KaPow IFF 2018, in addition to collaborating with him on future Inspirado Projecto episodes!

This episode is in memory of Nicholas’s Father, who died a few days before this broadcast. Dr. Tom Phillips had two doctorate degrees, and a masters. He was a virologist.
Their cosmic hour spanned everything from bicycles to quantum physics! PLUS they had the ever-talented Captain Nicholas piloting the ship, some new episodes of “That’s That,” and a secret QUEEN song played!
Robert Werner, Andrew Mandapat, Jared Boghosian and Fue Naiuli Johnson from “Lisa At Large” joined them to talk about their new series and the thrill of collaborating with encouraging and pleasant teammates!
You can listen to this magnificent audio collaboration HERE!
This episode happened synchronistically with news of Tom Petty’s passing. Two weeks prior, I had just seen Petty perform for the first time ever, at the KAABOO Festival, for what could have possibly been his last live performance. He was a thrilling energy to be in the midst of. Soo many memories through the decades of hearing his songs on the radio and in music videos showed up all at once. I didn’t realize until seeing him live, just how many hits he’s created, that we’re all familiar with, so many soundtracks for so many moments in our lives. It felt great to hear mobs of music-goers spanning so many generations, all singing along to his melodies, along with my family and friends. This “KAABOO” episode shares the audio of one of Petty’s timeless classics, recorded that monumental night!
Tom Petty at KAABOO Festival 2017
There was an abundance of amazing art, comedians, arcade games, hybrid humanimal creatures, music and performance art happening in various places about KAABOO. If you took photos of some sculptures with your flash, a hidden designs appeared!
In addition to Petty, some notable musicians I got a chance to see, were Jane’s Addiction, Pete Yorn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael McDonald, Muse, Pink, Eric Burdon from The Animals, Fishbone and others (some of which are played during this episode).
In addition to broadcasting audio on Chinatown’s 1630AM KCHUNG Radio, and streaming live on their website, this 10-2 episode also simultaneously motion-pictured itself in a digital visual format through Periscope. Another intriguing synchronicity happened with this episode. I had recently come across Robert Moss, a Shaman who talks about traveling through dreams and also contacting those who have passed. I planned to play his stuff during the broadcast, long before I heard about Tom Petty. As you know, the Celebrity Afterlife Report Podcast with the Celebrity Medium, is a staple of Inspirado Projecto. The information braided together quite uniquely. As you know we are always enthused to play music/spoken word that is suggested to us through Twitter, our email, on the bus, etc. We played a wonderful collaboration between A.J. and Tara, a cover of a Roy Orbison classic by Katie Shorey (phenomenal singer/songwriter and the frontwoman for Twisted Gypsy the Fleetwood Mac Tribute), an astounding experimental sound collage by one of PQ Ribber‘s many projects: Boys Nitroglycerine Pep Club, information about the upcoming Yachtley Crew show at Borderline Bar & Grill November 3rd, new Fun Facts by our Resident Trivia Expert and Traveler Henry D. Horse, and a wholesome song by the Cactus Blossoms from Twin Peaks: The Return. There are of course, many other surprises as well!
(Alec Smart/Sherman Sitter and Captain Nicholas did an outstanding job steering the KCHUNG Ship across the Galaxywaves, 9-18, in their melodic episode: “Know Your Dragons” as well as their stream-of-orchestration: “After Thoughts“. A piece of that episode is found in this episode.)
