11-20-2017 Episode: Astral

NamonCraigCEC

It was a joy to play around in Inspiradoville, with guests Namon Sherriel and Craig Spivek on Inspirado Projecto, in the KCHUNG 1630AM Studios of Chinatown, Los Angeles! Some of you may remember hearing Author/Comedian/Improvisor Extraordinaire, Craig, from some past episodes (I dare you to search for his name in the Official Inspirado Projecto WordPress Searchbar)? This is the first time we’ve interviewed Musician of Enchantment, Namon, on the show. We played audio selections from an album he’s cobbling together of dreamlike/fantasy music. It was fun to give him our thoughts and ideas that blipped our antennae, while listening to the particular songscapes. He wrote down ideas into a notebook too. Keep your ears open for a startling story about astral projection and a near-death experience!

We also had an opportunity to play some new Fun Facts by Henry D. Horse, a new Celebrity Afterlife Report Podcast from everyone’s favourite Celebrity Medium, and an unexpected guest showed up later with some of his own music, named Bobbie Deerfield.

Some of you who’ve listened to the show know we’ve encountered ‘technical abnormalities’ on several instances in the past. Sometimes the sound is very quiet, sometimes it sounds like we’re blasting it, sometimes it jarbles in and out, sometimes the entire control panel melts and we have to Frankenstein it back together with aluminum foil and paper clips. Opening arms and improvising brains, we plod forth doing the best we can with what we’ve got and somehow make it work. Its all a sound experiment and a scientific study in the art of ‘artistic process unfolding and the human behaviour associated with it.’ Having said that, this episode sounds like we’re speaking through Dixie cups and strings at times, and other times, is crispy and clear.

We also missed not having the Captain of our ship here, Nicholas Phillips. This might be part of the reason why the broadcast has its unique peaks and valleys.

Episode: Eclipse 8-21-2017

3amigosThis episode coincided with a marvelous event….an eclipse!!!! It’s a common habit with Inspirado Projecto episodes happening on cosmic days. In addition to it being a rare day in the history of life as we know it, we also had some colourful guests in the KCHUNG Studios! A couple of which, are producers of the educational program known as “Don’t Feed The Animals” (Alec Smart and Sherman Sitter).ShermanThe broadcast happened live in visual form on Periscope too, which can be viewed HERE!

We play a great Fun Fact by Henry D. Horse, feature a mischievous ditty by Joe McGaha’s band Bukett, monkee around with The Monkees, spotlight a wonderfully bizarre soundscape by Boys Nitroglycerin Pep Club, get a deceased celebrity question answered on the new Celebrity Afterlife Report, celebrate a Bonnie Tyler song, spin a mysterious indie classic by Ali Beletic, play TWO Queen songs,  in addition to covering lots of unique information!

I had the pleasure of attending the Micky Dolenz concert, 8-19, in Arizona, which we also speak about on the show. Here he is having a lot of fun onstage with his Sister, Coco!MickyCococroppedIt was an honour to visit the backstage meet-n-greet with Micky, and he was kind enough to do a promo for Inspirado Projecto, as well as autographing the back of my KCHUNG Radio press pass! CurtMickypresspass2croppedDori and I got to meet Coco Dolenz backstage as well. Coco and I shared a fun discussion about art and Amelia Earhart. 7-10-2017 Oceanic (Rabbits)

Two ideas for this theme are “Oceanic” and “Rabbits.” The latest unique mystery lies in the most recently-discovered ” #runtherabbit ” and ” #outofhandtv “, both of which are imperative as the functioning engine of this sound collage. Yrev very reflective images emerge in various familiar masks during this KCHUNG Radio Hour of Inspirado Projecto.

Captain Nicholas, master of Sound Engineering, joins CEC in the Audio Co-Pilot Arena. It was also simultaneously recorded LIVE for viewing possibilities on Periscope. We discuss Twin Peaks Season 3 nuggets, release a live audio delicacy of smooth yacht rock sensation “Yachtley Crew” during their first performance at The World Famous Viper Room 6-23-2017,  played a promo for the wonderful Documysteryâ„¢ (term coined by Jeff Finn) “Strange Septembers,” dug up a rockin’ Sebadoh jam, released a Fun Fact by Henry D. Horse, debuted a spacey fave by Sailors of Neptune, spilled the gossip-beans by The Celebrity Afterlife Report, blasted a mashup betwixt Kurt Schwitters‘ jibberish and Moondog‘s composure “Bird’s Lament”, then introduced a wonderful tribute song by Little Wendy Polland at Andy Kaufman’s Memorial!

We also discuss a yrev very cosmic Lynchian event that occurred. Back in May (a week or so before Twin Peaks Season 3 was released) 2017, I created a fun “AstroCoop” image of Dale Cooper dressed as an Astronaut floating through the Red Room. I was thinking about how he reminded me of David Bowie’s “…ground control to Major Tom…”, with Coop out there fused between dimensions trying to find his way back to Twin Peaks, traversing the curtains like heatwaves on Mars. At that point I had no idea the new season would focus on dopplegangers…

Coopmeme

After watching each part I hop on the interwebs to see what kinds of new revelations have beamed onto Peakers’ antennae. On July 9th, immediately after watching Part 9, I opened up Twitter to see if other folks caught Easter Eggs that flew past me and/or that I might have also caught. On the Twitter feed I found a photograph that VERY YREV MUCH echoed similarities of my AstroCoop! I immediately sent it to Lawrence August and he artistically blended them together side-by-side:

BothAstroCoops

This astounding accidental ‘prophecy’ was a gift all on its own….now to be able to archive it for my Futureself to look back on, as a strong example of how a series of antennae operating on similar broadcast signals can emerge from the stream-of-consciousness with similar fish!

Aunt Nancy

Thank you to my Aunt Nancy, who always encouraged me to draw, bought me art supplies/sketchbooks for Birthdays and Christmases, took such tender care of her gardens and plants, cooked all of those handmade delicious holiday meals, laughed heartily from the belly, smiled perpetually, gave us so much joy on her backyard trampoline/in her swimming pool, threw fun parties in her basement, taught us the benefits of living in a family filled with jokes and pranks (many centered around Easter Peeps), introduced us to Buckwheat Zydeco, and exemplified unrestrained freedom through her many adventures with Uncle Tom, to Texas and beyond.

We love you Aunt Nancy and thank you for all of the memories. RIP.
