Episode: Micky Dolenz! 5-1-2017

Dolenz

This episode, “Micky Dolenz,” features frequent Inspirado Projecto collaborator, comedian, philosopher, human behaviourist, cinematographer and writer, Craig Spivek. We talked about the process of creation, the traps of modern day schooling, comedy, imagination, off-the-grid gardening, and his personal story about Micky Dolenz. Craig also read a passage from his upcoming book of short stories (the title of which is HERE)! You can order a copy of his motivational memoir, “COMEDY WILL SAVE US ALL” HERE!

Ongoing throughout the episode, we had a contest running on how to WIN A FREE COPY of the cosmically brilliant point-and-click adventure game, “Thimbleweed Park“!!!! The first 3 people to send the answers to the questions mentioned on this episode {inspiradoprojecto (at) gmail (dot) com}, will each WIN a STEAM password to download a FREE copy of “Thimbleweed Park”! Thank you to Emily Morganti for giving us these giveaways. Thank you also to Ron Gilbert, Gary Winnick, David Fox and the gang, for creating such a dynamic invention!

We also played a song by my Cousin Scott Madden’s (who actually has a Monkees tattoo) Madman Band from Chicago (our last show featured their medley of the Ray Charles classic, “What’d I Say”), a promo for the Bunny Bike-a-Thon with Alec Smart from Don’t Feed The Animals,  one by Joe McGaha’s band Bourbon Road, an original Luie Dalmasy piece, some intriguing Fun Facts by Henry D. Horse, a fun old classic by Jason Harrison & Javier Guerrero about their life in Sherman Oaks, a brand new episode of “Celebrity Afterlife Report,” a fun one off of the new Monkees album “Good Times“, got a brief history lesson about KCHUNG 1630AM, premiered a finely crafted piece by Ali Beletic from her new album “Legends of These Lands Left To Live,” let loose on a Frank Zappa favourite,  played a new “Celebrity Afterlife Report” from The Famous Celebrity Medium, presented a new concoction by my song-writing partner Lawrence August and I, and celebrated songs from the Zelda game “Ocarina of Time“! Aunt Nancy

Thank you to my Aunt Nancy, who always encouraged me to draw, bought me art supplies/sketchbooks for Birthdays and Christmases, took such tender care of her gardens and plants, cooked all of those handmade delicious holiday meals, laughed heartily from the belly, smiled perpetually, gave us so much joy on her backyard trampoline/in her swimming pool, threw fun parties in her basement, taught us the benefits of living in a family filled with jokes and pranks (many centered around Easter Peeps), introduced us to Buckwheat Zydeco, and exemplified unrestrained freedom through her many adventures with Uncle Tom, to Texas and beyond.

We love you Aunt Nancy and thank you for all of the memories. RIP.
