Episode: Karma Karma 9-4-2017

This episode of Inspirado Projecto features lots of interesting surprises, most notably, a yrev very RARE song by Robert Forman with Andy Kaufman called “Karma Karma” (introduced to us by @AndyKaufmanLove from Twitter!

In addition to broadcasting on the KCHUNG 1630AM radiowaves, we also presented the show in a visual format on Periscope, the archive of which can be viewed HERE. During the hour, we played a funtastic Gordon Cole sound collage, a new instrumental by musician Jason D. Karr, a boxing favourite by 80k (a project by Lawrence August and Edo Plasschaert), a very rare Monkees song with a celebrity endorsement by Micky Dolenz, a fun commercial by our sponsor MEAT Clown Industries, an extraordinary piece by Dismemberment Plan, some Fun Facts by our resident research expert Henry D. Horse, a very special message from the Chicago Bears, new ghost gossip by the Celebrity Afterlife Report Podcast, some surprising news about Yacht Rock band Yachtley Crew, a commercial by our other sponsor PSY-CORP, an enchanting piece by Aria Knight, and a previously unreleased tone by filmmaker Nicholas Caesar (check out his webisode “Fishbowl”) which was scientifically extracted from this photo of Twin Peaks‘ favourite Dougie Jones:

7-10-2017 Oceanic (Rabbits)

Two ideas for this theme are “Oceanic” and “Rabbits.” The latest unique mystery lies in the most recently-discovered ” #runtherabbit ” and ” #outofhandtv “, both of which are imperative as the functioning engine of this sound collage. Yrev very reflective images emerge in various familiar masks during this KCHUNG Radio Hour of Inspirado Projecto.

Captain Nicholas, master of Sound Engineering, joins CEC in the Audio Co-Pilot Arena. It was also simultaneously recorded LIVE for viewing possibilities on Periscope. We discuss Twin Peaks Season 3 nuggets, release a live audio delicacy of smooth yacht rock sensation “Yachtley Crew” during their first performance at The World Famous Viper Room 6-23-2017,  played a promo for the wonderful Documysteryâ„¢ (term coined by Jeff Finn) “Strange Septembers,” dug up a rockin’ Sebadoh jam, released a Fun Fact by Henry D. Horse, debuted a spacey fave by Sailors of Neptune, spilled the gossip-beans by The Celebrity Afterlife Report, blasted a mashup betwixt Kurt Schwitters‘ jibberish and Moondog‘s composure “Bird’s Lament”, then introduced a wonderful tribute song by Little Wendy Polland at Andy Kaufman’s Memorial!

We also discuss a yrev very cosmic Lynchian event that occurred. Back in May (a week or so before Twin Peaks Season 3 was released) 2017, I created a fun “AstroCoop” image of Dale Cooper dressed as an Astronaut floating through the Red Room. I was thinking about how he reminded me of David Bowie’s “…ground control to Major Tom…”, with Coop out there fused between dimensions trying to find his way back to Twin Peaks, traversing the curtains like heatwaves on Mars. At that point I had no idea the new season would focus on dopplegangers…

Coopmeme

After watching each part I hop on the interwebs to see what kinds of new revelations have beamed onto Peakers’ antennae. On July 9th, immediately after watching Part 9, I opened up Twitter to see if other folks caught Easter Eggs that flew past me and/or that I might have also caught. On the Twitter feed I found a photograph that VERY YREV MUCH echoed similarities of my AstroCoop! I immediately sent it to Lawrence August and he artistically blended them together side-by-side:

BothAstroCoops

This astounding accidental ‘prophecy’ was a gift all on its own….now to be able to archive it for my Futureself to look back on, as a strong example of how a series of antennae operating on similar broadcast signals can emerge from the stream-of-consciousness with similar fish!

Aunt Nancy

Thank you to my Aunt Nancy, who always encouraged me to draw, bought me art supplies/sketchbooks for Birthdays and Christmases, took such tender care of her gardens and plants, cooked all of those handmade delicious holiday meals, laughed heartily from the belly, smiled perpetually, gave us so much joy on her backyard trampoline/in her swimming pool, threw fun parties in her basement, taught us the benefits of living in a family filled with jokes and pranks (many centered around Easter Peeps), introduced us to Buckwheat Zydeco, and exemplified unrestrained freedom through her many adventures with Uncle Tom, to Texas and beyond.

We love you Aunt Nancy and thank you for all of the memories. RIP.

On today’s Inspirado Projecto episode, “Parallax”, on KCHUNG RADIO, we welcomed my fellow Columbia College Chicago Alumn, and Mastermind of RogersOrion Management, Orion Barnes! We reminisced about being Directed in the play “Ivanov” by our Mentor and head of the Columbia Theatre Department , Sheldon Patinkin, (and how Sheldon’s teachings aided us in applying ensemble-based collaboration). We engaged intriguing conversations about: the upcoming May 21st Twin Peaks Season 3 (in conjunction with Orion’s personal story about David Lynch’s encounter with Orion’s Sister’s Woodland Creature), his upcoming projects, outstanding synchronicities, his experiences with being in Steppenwolf Theatre’s production of “Slaughterhouse Five” by Kurt Vonnegut (and then what it was like to meet Vonnegut after a performance one night).

3-20-2017 Episode-Equinox

IPEquinox

In addition to March 20th marking the first day of Spring, it also highlighted the Equinox. A day when both sides of the Hemisphere receive equal amounts of sunlight and darkness. Numerologists have said it is a great time to set your intentions for the upcoming months. So, what intentions have you set for yourself?

Before I get into it, I want to first point out a song credit and a very interesting story to go along with it, that I meant to mention on the show. Sometimes I dj at a Chuck E. Cheese kind of place. A few nights ago on St. Patrick’s Day, I met Joseph Peck, while his Son was hanging out with Mickey Mouse on the dancefloor. He told me it was the first time his Son ever saw Mickey Mouse, as they don’t have a tv at home. Instead, they have lots of music instruments. I learned he played the steel drums. It hearkened back to my first memory of learning what a steel drum was, when I saw a guy make one out of an old oil drum on an episode of Sesame Street. Joseph said “That’s Ellie Mannette! He’s my mentor! He taught me how to tune steel drums!” In addition to catching my Sesame Street reference, it was fascinating that he actually directly knew Ellie! I told Joseph about Inspirado Projecto, had him email me a link to his music and played his song “Slow Sunrise Flow” at the top of the show. Thank you Joseph!

IPQuad

Our guest of the show, is Craig Spivek, a local comedian. We met on the train while I was on my way to make music with my songwriting partner, Lawrence August . He talked about his book, “Comedy Will Save Us All!” It’s available on Amazon and a cross between an autobiography and self-help book. As you read the stories, you get the feeling that you grew up with Craig. He’s very personable and hilarious. Plus, he’s a big fan of synchronicities, which is always a wonderful revelation to learn about someone.

We also played Funfacts by Henry D. Horse, presented the new KaPow Intergalactic Film Festival promo, talked about the upcoming Yachtley Crew shows on April 14th at StillWater Spirits & Sounds and April 15th at Bombay Bar & Grill, featured an advert by our official sponsor MEAT Clown Industries, had the honour of spilling the latest dead celebrity news from the Celebrity Afterlife Report, and unearthed a great ol’ Max Headroom song!

Oh! We also broadcasted LIVE from the KCHUNG Studio, through Periscope! The first time we ever broadcasted LIVE through Periscope, was during our FAR Bazaar episode.

*Something brand newly available, is a Patreon page. We’ll be offering epiphanies, riffs, art, and anything we meant to play on Inspirado Projecto Radio, but didn’t have time to. Our special guest, PQ Ribber, talked about his Overnightscape radio show, other various projects he’s collaborated on, and a homemade movie he was in with Andy Kaufman! We give notice to the anniversary of when my fellow Blues Brothers Orphan Jeff Cahill left us, in addition to a cosmic story involving the time when he booked IamAnOrphan to play at On the Rox (you can view the documentary about him and all the bands he helped out on the Sunset Strip, called “The Booker”, right HERE!).

Horse, spoken word by poetess Samantha Light, a demo version of a song called “Use Me Darling” written by songwriter extraordinaire Lawrence August, a new one by Katmaz from his album “Nautical Things”, a sweet serenade by Bibi Borja and a dreamy soundscape by PQ Ribber. News about the upcoming point-and-click adventure game “Thimbleweed Park” is proclaimed (created by the same geniuses who brought us “Maniac Mansion,” and “Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders“), AND… music featured within the game, at a location called “Quickie Pal”, is revealed!
